Pamela Anderson says romance with Liam Neeson not a 'publicity stunt'
Pamela Anderson maintains that her relationship with The Naked Gun co-star Liam Neeson is not a publicity stunt.
The actress-model set the record straight during her Deauville Talent Award acceptance speech in France, saying she will never feed into PR stunts to promote her work.
"I do not and will never feed into PR stunts. That would be a death sentence. I'm authentically driven. I'm superstitious when it comes to love. And I'm not comfortable sharing any shred of my romantic life," she said.
She went on saying that she will "fall in love again and again on screen" as "that is [her] job."
In August, an industry insider told Page Six that Anderson and Neeson's affair is "sincere" and "true."
"It's very sincere how they feel. That is the truth. They're not going to show up on the red carpet and be adorable just to be fake, that's not either of them," the source said.
The rumors arose after the film's London premiere, where the two walked the red carpet together. Anderson then sweetly kissed Neeson's cheek while the latter wrapped his arm around her back.
"If we do it well, you will feel it, a kind of projection. It is the greatest compliment. So please think [positively]. And I appreciate your good wishes. There are no silly games being played. I'm sincere," Anderson said.
Anderson and Neeson, who play the roles of Beth Davenport and Frank Drebin Jr., respectively, in the 2025 American crime comedy action thriller, The Naked Gun, sparked romance since July when US Weekly reported the two stars were growing closer while filming the film.
Neeson, who shares two sons with his late wife Natasha Richardson, reflected on the unexpected chemistry he discovered with Anderson during a July appearance on Today.
"I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely budding chemistry as two actors," Neeson said. "It was like, 'Ooo, this is nice, let's not mold this. Let's just let it breathe.' And that's what we did."
Anderson, a mom to two sons with her ex-husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, shared similar sentiments. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, she admitted that their connection extended beyond their time in front of the camera
"We had many dinners out with the cast," Anderson revealed. "I invited him and his assistant over for romantic dinners with me and my assistant so our relationship stayed 'professionally romantic' during filming."
'Madly in love'
In an October 2024 interview with PEOPLE, Neeson said he's "madly in love" with Anderson while filming the movie, though it was apparently in the context of being co-stars.
"She's just terrific to work with,” he said at the time. “I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with."
Anderson, meanwhile, called him "the perfect gentleman."
"He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness, and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him," she said.
In the July issue of Entertainment Weekly, Anderson said, "I think I have a friend forever in Liam, and we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he's a good guy."
The Naked Gun is the fourth instalment of the franchise, which parodies police procedurals. It's a legacy sequel to the 1994 movie Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult. Other entries in the franchise include The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) and The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991).
The Naked Gun is directed by Akiva Schaffer, a member of the comedy group The Lonely Island.
