Michelle Dee talks relationship status: 'Definitely off the market emotionally'
Michelle Dee shared that her heart is taken.
In an interview on Kylie Verzosa's podcast Almost Honest, the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 titleholder opened up about her relationship status.
"I'm technically single, but my heart is taken. If that makes sense," she said.
"[Because] we're not officially together again yet. But definitely, off the market emotionally, all of that."
Dee further explained that this is the case because it was up to her to ask.
"Me being single by the time [the podcast] comes out depends on my next move," she said.
The beauty queen also discussed relationship dynamics. She said that she's the type who likes taking care of her partner.
"Obviously, it depends when I'm with a man, the expectations are different. When I'm with a woman, the expectations are different also. But I have no similar situation where if I'm with a guy, then dapat siya magbabayad ng lahat? It doesn't work that way," she shared.
"When I'm with a woman, the expectations level out a little bit because I also like being taken care of in situations, but there are [times] when I like to take the lead," Dee continued, adding that she doesn't assume the role of the man in relationships.
With her current "situation," she added that they "pre-agreed" on who makes the first move.
"I never really believed in marriage until this last partner of mine. You kind of like play on what you expect, don't expect, what you're able to give, and how you're able to adjust for that relationship or situation," she said.
In May 2023, Dee came out as bisexual.
“I’ve identified with that for as long as I can remember. I’m attracted to all forms of beauty, all shapes and sizes,” she said, adding that it's an “open secret” among her friends and family.
