Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin make history at the 46th Blue Dragon Awards with major wins

What a power couple!

K-drama stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin made history by taking home the top prizes at the 46th Blue Dragon Awards.

Hyun Bin won Best Actor for his performance in Harbin, a period drama biopic about independence activist General Ahn Jung Geun.

Aside from giving a special mention to everyone who worked and supported the film in his acceptance speech, he also expressed gratitude to his spouse and child.

"To my wife, Ye Jin, who is such a source of strength just by existing, I want to say I love you and thank you... I was happy to share the values we must protect and the history we must not forget with the audience. Thank you," he said.

After catching his breath for a moment, he continued, "I want to tell our son that I love him and am grateful."

Son Ye Jin, meanwhile, won Best Actress for the comedy thriller No Other Choice, where she played the wife of actor Lee Byung Hun.

"After getting married and becoming a mother, I realized that my perspective on the world has changed. I want to be a good adult. I hope to continue developing and remain a good actor who stays by your side for a long time," she said.

"I want to share this joy with the two men I love so much... Mr. Kim Tae Pyeong (Hyun Bin), and our baby, Kim Woo-jin," she added.

The two were then dubbed as "couple double champions" for their feat—a first in the awards ceremony.

Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin are known for the hit Korean series Crash Landing on You, where they first starred as a love team.

The couple got married in March 2022 and welcomed their child in the same year.

The Blue Dragon Film Awards, first held in 1963, is South Korea’s representative film festival.
