Atom Araullo confirms he's been in a long-term relationship
Atom Araullo confirmed that he's in a long-term relationship with someone who is also a public figure.
In his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the "King of Talk" asked him if he's in a relationship, to which he responded with, "Yes."
“Matagal na. How many years? See... we don’t even count. It’s been a while,” he said.
Although he did not disclose her name, he confirmed that she's also a public figure.
“She is public. I think people know. People on social media know. They see us outside often,” Araullo said.
When asked about marriage, the journalist said that while it’s natural to think about it in a serious relationship, he isn’t setting any deadlines.
“That’s always in someone’s mind when they’re in a serious relationship. So, definitely, it’s something that you think about. Something that you’re ready for," he said, adding, "But I’m not setting a deadline or timeline for it."
Araullo has always been private about his love life. During his interview on Pia Arcangel's podcast, he described his "dream girl," saying he's attracted to people who are “very passionate” about something in life.
He continued, “And people who are really kind. You get an understanding kung ano 'yung genuine kindness eh lalo na, kapag mas, you know, mas may edad ka na.”
“Hindi na 'yung beyond the facade or parang 'yung mga pakitang tao. You get an understanding for sino 'yung mga may true empathy, 'yung kahit mukhang masungit sa labas, parang 'yung nakatago 'yung, ano, 'yung pagiging pusong mamon, 'yung mga ganyan,” he added.
He has long been linked to fellow journalist Zen Hernandez.
Dating speculations between the two started in 2021 when Zen posted a picture of Araullo and news anchor Pinky Webb in Balesin Island.
They also occasionally share snaps of each other on Instagram. In 2023, they were spotted celebrating their birthdays together with fellow journalist Ryan Chua in Hong Kong. They have not confirmed nor denied the romance rumors since then.
