Kris Aquino gives sweet shoutout to children amidst health struggles
Despite going through "a very tough" eight weeks supposedly because of her many physical ailments, Kris Aquino is putting the spotlight on her sons, Josh and Bimby.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Aquino declared "why I'm fighting for them." She posted a series of photos featuring Josh, 30, and Bimby, 18, as well as some members of her medical team.
Aquino wrote about Bimby's decision to continue his singing lessons under singer and vocal coach Thor Dulay, "plus some super star 'Titos' who have volunteered to teach him about stage presence and how to make audience rapport fun for all."
"A singing doctor—thank you hunny for being the embodiment of what mama had wished for," Aquino continued.
Sandwiched between photos is a video of Bimby singing an excerpt of Willie Revillame's Ikaw Na Nga supposedly during a practice session with Dulay.
In 2018, Aquino was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease—chronic spontaneous urticaria, a skin condition that can impact the quality of life. This would be just the first of several. In May 2025, Aquino revealed she had nine diagnosed autoimmune diseases.
Then, on July 20, Aquino announced on Instagram that Bimby would be taking over her Instagram "with me checking before he posts." She also shared about an additional two diagnosed diseases.
Through all her health battles, Aquino said in her latest post, Bimby has been with her every step of the way.
"From the time he was 11, he's been my companion every time I've had to been (sic) put to sleep for the numerous procedures I have undergone," Aquino wrote.
Bimby is Aquino's son with two-time Philippine Basketball Association Season Most Valuable Player James Yap. Josh is Aquino's son with Philip Salvador.
