Kang Daniel to enlist in the military in February
K-pop star and K-drama actor Kang Daniel is set to begin his military service in February.
His agency, ARA, announced on Jan. 14 that Kang will enlist as an active-duty soldier on Feb. 9, per a Soompi report.
"Kang Daniel will enlist at the Army Training Center on February 9, where he will undergo basic military training before fulfilling his mandatory service as an active-duty soldier in the Army," the statement read.
The agency added that there will be no separate event on the day of his enlistment, and asked fans to refrain from visiting the shared enlistment site for safety reasons.
"We ask for FLOWD’s [Kang Daniel’s fandom] warm support and love so that Kang Daniel can faithfully fulfill his duty to the nation and return in good health," it added
Kang debuted as an idol in 2017 as part of the group Wanna One, which was formed through the Mnet survival show Produce 101 Season 2. He made his solo debut in 2019.
His solo songs include PARANOIA, Watercolor, Who U Are, and Electric Shock. He last performed in the Philippines in February 2025 as part of the Waterbomb Manila lineup.
Meanwhile, Wanna One is set to reunite for a new reality show set to air in the first half of 2026.
