Gary Valenciano's daughter Kiana claps back at critics demanding refund after singer's concert got cut

Gary Valenciano's daughter Kiana is speaking out about people on social media who want their money back after her dad's concert had to stop early due to health problems.

On her TikTok account, Kiana posted a heartfelt message to her dad for trying his best to perform at his "Pure Energy: One More Time" concert last Dec. 20 despite feeling under the weather due to constant vomiting and dehydration.

"Some may say it was a waste of time, effort, and money. But what many fail to realize is that night was one of a kind—there will never be another like it. The audience that night saw my dad the way I see him at the kitchen table when he hasn't had enough rest for weeks. They received the pep talk he's given me when I've been at my lowest. They witnessed him lean on my mom when he realized he couldn't do it on his own," she wrote.

"If you came to merely be entertained, you'd see it as a failure. But if you know anything about him—who he is and what he stands for—you'd quickly recognize that his purpose in life is not solely to entertain, but also to inspire," she continued. "So, yeah. That's my dad. On Sunday night, on song number 22. That's my dad. I've never been prouder to say it."

I’m not gonna remember every show I’ve watched him play, but I’ll be telling my grandkids about this one.

However, some online users weren't happy with the post. They told Kiana to stop the "drama" and give people their money back since they went to the first show.

"Ok enough of the drama. REFUND," one user commented.

In response, Kiana wrote, "It's not drama. And you didn't pay me so don't demand a refund from me. If you were at the show and you truly want a refund please reach out to his team."

Another user said that while they tried to reach out to concert organizer Manila Genesis for a refund, they have yet to receive a reply. Another critic claimed they weren't replying as they "don't care" for paying audiences.

"You have no right to comment with this tone on my TikTok when you don't even the balls or backbone to use your real photo or name. 'Wag ako," Kiana clapped back.

She later clarified that it's "totally understandable" to want a refund, but that the "manner in which some people are so demanding and demeaning and bordering harassment is what's not okay."

Others had concerns about Gary's health and asked if he should keep performing.

"We all admire your dad for inspiring all of us to have faith in our father. But please, as a family, make a decision not to push his health," one user commented.

Kiana responded, "I wish it were up to us. As his daughter, I wish he would just relax. But this is something that I cannot control. It's his decision. It's not like we force him to get on stage."

Gary's "Pure Energy: One More Time" concert took place for two nights on Dec. 20 and Dec. 22  at the Araneta Coliseum.

On the first night, the veteran singer showed up onstage after some delays and shared that he was feeling under the weather in his opening speech. After singing a few of his hits, Gary said he wasn’t sure if he could push through with the show.

In a Facebook post, his wife Angeli later explained that Gary "ingested something and vomited so many times in the last two hours." Despite how he was feeling, the music artist insisted on pushing through with the concert while doctors were on standby backstage.

In another update, Angeli assured the public his vitals have become normal and he has been getting some rest, noting that he is "just weak from all the throwing up."

Gary pushed through with the second night of his show as scheduled.

"Pure Energy: One More Time" is a follow-up concert to "Gary’s Pure: Energy: One Last Time" show in April.

Over the years, he has had several health scares. He previously suffered and survived tuberculosis and hepatitis. He also underwent open heart surgery in 2018 and battled kidney cancer.
