As Dylan Harper joins the San Antonio Spurs in the 2025 NBA Draft, his mother, Maria Pizarro Harper, also seems to be getting the spotlight, with many online users commenting on her striking appearance.

The 19-year-old rising basketball star from Rutgers University was the No. 2 pick by the Spurs during the NBA Draft held on Thursday, June 26 (Philippine time). He is set to join the talented roster of the team, including Victor Wembanyama.

After his selection, Dylan and his mom Maria spoke to the media, celebrating the "surreal" victory.

"His flat-out love for the game, his determination, humility, and hard work day in and day out," Maria told ESPN when asked about how Dylan got into the NBA.

"It's surreal, [the] NBA is a very, very exclusive club. He has worked so hard to get here, just proud," she said in a separate interview.

Her brief exposure, which showed her in a stunning black leather dress, was enough to get the attention of the internet, with most social media users complimenting her beauty.

"Dylan Harper’s mom is a baddddieeeee," an X user wrote.

"NBA TWITTER BREAKING OVER DYLAN HARPER MOM," another one wrote

"Filipina baddie," a TikTok user wrote.

"Respectfully, Dylan Harper’s mom is an absolute smoke show," another X user posted

Apart from her looks, Maria deserves to be celebrated for her contributions to her son's basketball journey. She served as Dylan's first-ever coach and has taught him the sport since he was in elementary school.

Her love for the sport began in her fifth grade, where she would play after school. Maria earned a scholarship and played on the court as a Division I basketball player for the University of New Orleans from 1993 to 1996.

She continued her passion as a coach. "Always being passionate about the sports I played, I wanted to continue being involved in the game (specifically basketball) as an adult,” Maria said. “Coaching was the natural progression for me to stay connected to the game love," she said, per The Springfield Student.

Maria was born in Manila, with family roots in Bataan. Her family moved to the United States when she was seven.

She was married to five-time NBA champion Ron Harper from 2005 to 2012. Together, they have three children: Detroit Pistons player Ron Jr., Dylan, and Mia.
