LOOK: Miss Grand International PH Emma Tiglao shines bright in moon-inspired costume
Miss Grand International Philippines Emma Tiglao radiated celestial elegance as she unveiled a moon-inspired national costume that was nothing short of stellar.
Tiglao dazzled her fans with her getup during the pageant's national costume segment held at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand on Oct. 13.
She gave a closer look at it through her Instagram account as she shared some details about how it pays tribute to Mayari, the lunar empress of Pampanga who is a "symbol of feminine strength, beauty, and equality."
"The design captures her divine elegance through an interplay of silver, sapphire blue, and midnight hues, mirroring the serene yet commanding glow of moonlight," Tiglao described the costume, which was designed by Patrick Isorena.
She said that the crescent backdress delicately framed in intricate filigree patterns represents the lunar cycle while the embellishments and crystal beadwork signify the moon’s reflection on tranquil waters.
The structured bodice and celestial wing details meanwhile embody the goddess’s regal power, while the flowing ombre cape evokes the night sky cascading into dawn.
"Each element weaves the story of a Filipina goddess—fearless yet graceful, mystical yet human, standing as a beacon of light amid darkness," Tiglao said.
Tiglao won Miss Grand Philippines 2025 in August, besting 28 other candidates. She was crowned by her predecessor, Miss Grand International 2024 titleholder CJ Opiaza.
The 30-year-old beauty queen from Pampanga called the moment a significant comeback and the start of a new chapter in her career.
"It wasn't the quantity of waiting time, but the quality of the dream I held on to," she wrote. "My heart is overflowing with gratitude. Every ounce of hard work, every sleepless night, every tear I've shed, every doubt I've battled, every training, and every sacrifice I've made have all led me to this moment. And with all my heart, I can truly say it was worth it."
"More than the crown or title, I hope this moment reminds us that pageantry should never be about hate or tearing someone down. Words are powerful enough to inspire hope or cause pain," she emphasized.
Tiglao previously competed in Miss Intercontinental in 2019 as Miss Philippines with a Top 20 finish.
The Miss Grand International 2025 coronation night is slated for Oct. 18 in Bangkok, Thailand.
