Chie Filomeno asks for privacy amid rumors linking her to Matthew Lhuillier
Chie Filomeno has broken her silence on speculations linking her to Cebuano businessman Matthew Lhuillier amid breakup rumors with Jake Cuenca.
On her Instagram stories, the actress said that she is aware of all the assumptions being made and asked for privacy.
"I've been reading and hearing a lot these past few days and I ask that my past relationship, my present life, and the Lhuillier family be left out of this issue," she urged.
"They don't deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing to do with them," she added.
Filomeno alsoo set a firm boundary regarding her personal life.
"No further statements will be made at this time, and I kindly ask that people refrain from speculation or intrusions into my private affairs," she said.
"I may be a public figure, but I am not public property. I ask that my private life remain private," she added.
In another story, Filomeno directed her followers' attention to the ongoing issue of the anomalous flood control projects.
"I really don't get why people meddle with someone else's private life when there are more pressing matters, tulad po ng flood control, opo 'di ba?" she wrote.
Rumors of Filomeno's connection to Lhuillier erupted from a post by internet personality Xian Gaza, who claimed that she had left Cuenca for Matthew, the son of Michael Lhuillier, president and CEO of M Lhuillier.
Questions about Filomeno and Cuenca's relationship arose after social media users noticed that the two stopped following each other on Instagram.
Cuenca has yet to address the issue.
The two publicly confirmed their relationship in 2023.
