Lea Salonga, Rachelle Ann Go lead cast of 'Les Misérables' Manila run
Meet the people behind the barricade: The cast members for the Manila run of Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular have been announced.
GMG Productions has unveiled the cast for the acclaimed production, which is set to premiere in Manila in January 2026 at The Theatre, Solaire.
Filipino actors are leading the cast, starting with Lea Salonga, who played Kim in Miss Saigon. She will join the production as Madame Thénardier, while Rachelle Ann Go will return as Fantine. Emily Bautista is set to play as Éponine, and Red Concepción will be Thénardier. Another Filipino talent is expected to join for the role of Little Cosette.
Joining them is West End and Broadway artist Gerónimo Rauch, who will play the starring role of Jean Valjean. Rauch has previously played the role in both the West End and Spain.
Other cast members include Jeremy Secomb as Javert, Will Callan as Marius, Lulu-Mae Pears as Cosette, Harry Chandler as Enjolras, and Earl Carpenter as the Bishop of Digne.
Completing the ensemble are Jonathon Bentley, Georgina Blessitt, Amelia Broadway, Michael Burgen, Mary Jean Caldwell, Rosy Church, Gabrielle Cummins, Beth Curnock, Shaun Dalton, Jade Davies, Jonathan David Dudley, Harry Dunnett, Louis Emmanuel, Charlie Geoghegan, Connor Jones, Abel Law, Adam Robert Lewis, Andrew Maxwell, and Jill Nalder, among others.
The musical ensemble will be composed of international and Filipino artists, including Gerald Calma, Dino Decena, Mary Anne Espina, Fransisco Llorin, Mhaze Lim, Jonathan Livioco, Dondon Lucena, Luke Manuel, Kier Manimtim, Marloe Maruyama, Gabriel Mendoza, Paul Ramos, Coi Reyes, Steve Retallick, Raymond Sarreal, Jordan San Jose, and Miko Villena.
“We’re incredibly honored to bring LES MISÉRABLES: THE WORLD TOUR SPECTACULAR to Manila, and we’re equally delighted to see Filipino talent represented both on stage and among the musicians,” said GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal. “This production is a celebration of world-class artistry, and we’re thrilled for Filipino audiences to experience it.”
Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel.
James Powell and Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy are set to direct the show, with Matt Kinley leading set design and costumes by Andreane Neofitou, Christine Rowland, and Paul Wills.
