Marjorie Barretto, on Oct. 29, shared a series of social media posts addressing the controversial statements made by her mother, Inday Barretto, in an interview last week.

“Something is weighing so heavily on my heart right now. A few days ago, on my brother’s first-month death anniversary, an interview of my mom was released,” Marjorie began. “I woke up to frantic calls and messages from loved ones saying that my mom had said very hurtful and untrue things about me.”

Marjorie said she was "shocked" to find out that she and her mom "were supposedly not on good terms." She shared that they were just together every day since her brother got hospitalized up to his inurnment.

"Was I not taking my mom home from the wake? Was I only dreaming that we were talking, hugging, and comforting each other," she asked.

"Was this really necessary to drag our grieving, non-showbiz family members into a new scandal while everyone is still mourning my brother's sudden death? Or am I once again damage control? The Mission: Destroy Marjorie—to make the youngest child look good and clean," she continued.

Addressing a claim that Inday said about not inviting her to family gatherings, claiming that Marjorie was ashamed of her. Marjorie wrote, “Why would you say that, Mom? You and my siblings know very well that you’ve often asked me not to post photos of us together because Gretchen and Caludine might get upset.”

She said that hearing that from her own mother "was deeply hurtful."

“Mom, as God is my witness, you begged me to never fix things with my 2 sisters so you won’t be left out,” Marjorie continued.

“I am 51 years old, and for more than 20 of those years, I have been punished for being the child who never bothered my parents with problems, the one who kept it together even while drowning to survive. With my mom, if you are not a problematic child, you become the least favorite,” she added.

Marjorie said the claims about her and her ex-brother-in-law, Raymart Santiago, who Inday accused of abusing Claudine, were both “false, unfair, and destructive.”

In her desire to keep her children from “suffering from this vicious cycle,” Marjorie said she would no longer be quiet, as her silence was causing her much pain.

“In the interview, my mom implied I was ‘inggit,’ distant, and cold, then she said she loved me. I’m confused because if she truly knew me, she’d know those words are the farthest from the truth,” Marjorie wrote.

To end her statement, Marjorie addressed her mother directly: “Mom, I want you to know that I love you. And I have learned to accept whatever kind of love you can give me. It’s okay. In fact, I have surrendered to it. Instead of looking for affection and protection from you, I will pour all of my energy into being the best mom to my children. I am not a perfect mom, but they can trust me.”

She said that she felt the need to "clarify and explain" because she is "misunderstood."

"When someone close to you distorts the truth in a very public way, it creates an ache that silence cannot hold anymore," she shared.

Inday made several claims about her celebrity daughters, Marjorie, Gretchen, and Claudine, during a two-part interview with Ogie Diaz. Among the things she shared about Marjorie, Inday said, “I feel rejection from her. I just feel like she loves me, but parang hindi ako enough sa kanya. Parang may hinahanap siya sa akin na hindi ko alam kung ano. Kasi kung alam ko, ibigay ko.”

Inday, 89, also said of Marjorie, “We don’t get along fine. I love her. She knows that.”

In the first part of the interview, Inday accused Raymart of covering Claudine’s mouth with a towel, dragging her around, and chasing her like a cat would chase a scared mouse. At one point, Inday said her daughter looked like a “zombie” because of all the alleged abuse.

Soon after, Raymart's legal counsel released a statement, which essentially dismissed Inday’s accusations as baseless.

He also said on Instagram Stories that his conscience is clear. "Kailanman ay hindi ko nagawa o magagawa ang mga paratang nila," he stressed.

"Tinupad ko ang pangako ko sa kanila ni Daddy Pikey (Claudine's late father)," he continued. "Kahit na sarili ko ay tinaya ko para maprotektahan lang ang anak nila. Higit sa lahat, mahal na mahal ko ang aking mga anak at binigay ko ang higit pa sa nararapat."

The Barretto sisters, at least the three in the public eye, have been involved in several feuds over the years. In an interview earlier this year, Claudine claimed she and Marjorie are civil to each other when they meet once a year or every two years.
