This weekend, it’s time to press pause and treat yourself to something fun.

Fancy a musical? There's Bagets The Musical, based on the 1984 coming-of-age comedy film. Want to learn more about Quiapo and its history? There's a heritage walk just for that.

That’s just a few! We’ve rounded up the best events across Metro Manila this weekend so you can pick your perfect way to unwind.

Jan. 23 to March 2026: Bagets the Musical

If you want to relive the 1984 coming-of-age comedy film Bagets, now's your chance to see it brought to life on stage.

Bagets the Musical is hitting the theater this weekend, offering a nostalgic trip back to the iconic youth culture of the ’80s—complete with catchy songs, familiar characters, and all the drama that made the original film a classic.

This time, new actors are portraying the quintet: Milo Cruz and Migo Valid as Tonton, Ethan David and KD Estrada as Arnel, Tomas Franco Rodriquez and Noel Comia Jr. as Gilbert, Jeff Moses and Sam Shoaf as Topee, and Mico Chua and Andres Muhlach as Adie.

The musical will be staged at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Metro Manila, and you can catch shows starting Jan. 23.

Tickets start at P1,000. You can purchase them through this link.

Jan. 20 to March 2026: 'Les Misérables' Manila run

Joining them is Broadway artist Gerónimo Rauch, who will play the starring role of Jean Valjean. Other cast members include Jeremy Secomb as Javert, Will Callan as Marius, Lulu-Mae Pears as Cosette, Harry Chandler as Enjolras, and Earl Carpenter as the Bishop of Digne.

Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables is set in 19th-century France and tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former convict seeking redemption while being relentlessly pursued by the lawman Javert.
