The iPhone 17 series is here. For its latest smartphone line, Apple unveiled a new model, the slim iPhone Air.

Launched during the "Awe dropping" event on Sept. 10 (Philippine time), the range also includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, which boast a new 18MP Center Stage front camera, improved rear cameras—including 48MP Fusion lenses—and a revamped "plateau" camera bump for the Air, Pro, and Pro Max.

All four models will also support Apple Intelligence and iOS 26, which Apple unveiled in June. The new OS introduces a new "Liquid Glass" design that adds transparency and refraction effects to make the UI look sleeker.

All models will start at 256GB storage configurations.

The standard version got a screen size upgrade, as it now comes with a 6.3-inch, 120Hz ProMotion display that can output 3,000 nits of brightness. The previous vanilla iPhone 16 touted a 6.1-inch screen.

This device is powered by an A19 chip with a 6-core CPU for better battery life and support for Apple Intelligence.

Apple also boasted that the new vanilla version can charge up to 50% in 20 minutes (wired).

Design-wise, the iPhone 17 looks similar to its predecessor with a pill-shaped camera bump. On the latest model will be the new 48MP fusion ultra-wide lens and 12MP macro lens.

The selfie camera also got a big update, as it now features an 18MP Center Stage Front Camera with a "wider" field of view thanks to its square-shaped sensor. With this, users won't need to hold their phone in landscape to take group selfies, as AI will automatically switch the perspective.

This model is available in colors of black, lavender, mist blue, sage, and white.

iPhone Air

The newest member of the iPhone family is its slimmest smartphone yet.

The frame of the phone is made of titanium and dons a mirrored glass design in Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue.

Apple called the camera bump on this phone a "plateau," as it extends like a rectangle across its body instead of just sitting on the upper left of the rear. In this plateau is a single 48MP fusion camera with a 26mm focal length.

In front, the 5.6mm thin phone has a 6.5-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and an 18MP Center Stage front camera.

Meanwhile, under the hood, it's powered by an A19 Pro chip to enable high performance and power efficiency in its small frame.

The tech company didn't give the specifics about the battery capacity but said that the iPhone 17 Air promises "all-day battery life."

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

Like the iPhone 17 and Air, the iPhone 17 Pro (6.3-inch) and 17 Pro Max (6.9-inch) versions got a fresh new design that puts performance in the spotlight.

The Pro line is also equipped with a camera plateau that extends to the edge of the phone's rear. This bigger camera bump houses the triple 48MP fusion cameras—main, ultra wide, and telephoto—that deliver more detailed images. New to the camera system is a 4x optical zoom at 100mm and an 8x optical zoom at 200mm, the longest ever on an iPhone.

Video-wise, the phones support ProRes RAW, Log 2, and genlock, a technique used to sync videos from multiple cameras.

In front, it also gets an 18MP Center Stage Camera with a wider field of view, like the rest of the iPhone 17 series.

Under the hood, it's powered by an A19 Pro chip and an Apple-designed vapor chamber to keep it cool while doing graphics-intensive tasks like gaming, video editing, and running large language models.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max come in bolder and more rugged-looking colors of Silver, Deep Blue, and Cosmic Orange.
