Tiktok Shop to start charging sellers P5 processing fee this December
E-commerce platform TikTok Shop will soon charge sellers an additional P5 fee.
According to a report by The Philippine STAR, TikTok Shop said in a Nov. 14 email to sellers that it will impose an additional "order processing fee" starting December to allow “enhancements (that) lay the foundation for sustainable growth and allow the improvement of the overall shopping experience.”
“The Order Processing Fee is fixed at P5 per order (tax inclusive), regardless of the number of items or the total order value,” it read.
Tiktok Shop, however, will first charge a lower P3 fee on Dec. 1 until further notice to dampen the effect of the new fee on sellers.
The fee is still on top of value-added tax and other transaction fees already charged by the platform for completed sales transactions.
In June 2022, TikTok Philippines launched its TikTok Shop e-commerce feature, rivaling similar platforms like Shopee and Lazada.
