Have you noticed how some brands are using a hand-drawn, "scribbled" style for their social media posts?

Recently, companies have gone viral for witty memes featuring doodles of their products, humorously captioned with claims that their graphic artists are “on leave.” They make the design look messy on purpose to stand out from the clean and polished marketing we see everywhere.

These posts often include awkward layouts, stick figures, and Comic Sans text to promote their products and services.

Here are some brands from food, tech, and media that have drawn laughs with their witty and creative spin on the meme.

Buffalo's Wings N' Things hopped on the trend, sharing a drawing of their dish, seemingly created with MSPaint, with the text, "Our graphic designer is on a date today. Maybe you should go on a date too. Treat your loved one to our Country Style Fried Chicken."

"When words (or graphics) fall short, good food says it all," they captioned their post.

Chowking PH endorsed their chao fan, showing a quick sketch of their product with the text, "naka-VL graphic designers namin :(."

Wendy's Philippines promoted its Buy 1, Take 1 promo with the trending meme, a drawing of their burgers also appears to be created with MSPaint.

"Hindi man perfect ang drawing, perfect naman ang deal!" they captioned their post.

Craving for pizza? Greenwich Philippines has its thin pizza perfectly illustrated in their entry in the viral meme. "Pinag-leave namin graphic designer namin para maka-sabay kami sa uso," they quipped.

KFC Philippines also made sure to jump on the trend. "Bucket hindi niyo kulayan na ang drawing, tara KFC!" they captioned their post.

Minute Burger also endorsed their Buy 1, Take 1 "forever promo" with a drawing that included humorous labels explaining the illustration.

"So ayun na nga, nag-expire Canva Pro account namin. Lipat muna MS Paint," they wrote in the caption.

Tech brand HONOR Philippines showcased its foldable phone unit using a rough sketch. "Our boss said ASAP!" they wrote in the caption with a crying emoji.

Realme also did the viral meme. "Soafer nipis na smartphone, may top-of-the-line specs pa! (bili na kayo pls kasi TGIF diba)" they quipped in the caption.

Meanwhile, Jobstreet Philippines poked fun at the trend. "Andami atang Graphic Artists na nagsasabi na naka-VL. Don’t worry, nakita namin sila na nagbabrowse lang ng site namin. We gotchu!" they wrote in their Facebook post.

The Philippines STAR also joined in the trend, showing a doodle of a newspaper with the text, "To all graphic artists, deserve n'yo and leave na 'yan!"

"Even creativity needs to rest. Remember, recharging is part of the process. Kahit ang pinakamalikhain, nauubusan din," they captioned their posts.
