Pinoys among top ChatGPT users in the world—survey

A recent survey found that Filipinos are among the top users of the AI platform.

According to The Digital 2026 Overview Report released by media and consumer intelligence company Meltwater and creative agency We Are Social, 42.4% of Filipino internet users have used ChatGPT in the past month.

The Philippines ranked sixth after Kenya (49.5%), Brazil (49.1%), Israel (49%), Malaysia (48.4%) and United Arab Emirates (44.7%).

Internet users aged 16 and above were surveyed by London-based GWI in the second quarter of 2025 for the study.

ChatGPT was launched in 2022 via OpenAI.

Per the report, the number of its unique visitors went up from 192 million in August 2023 to around 489 million in the same month this year.

Users rely on the AI platform to seek specific information, edit user-provided text, teach something, and seek “how-to” advice.

Other known AI tools similar to ChatGPT are Gemini (Google), DeepSeek, Perplexity, and Grok.
