'Isang Himala,' 'Flower Girl' to stream on Netflix this November

If your movie nights need a fresh pick, you're in for a treat as two acclaimed, female-led Filipino films are set to be available on Netflix this November.

CreaZion Studios announced that their films Isang Himala and Flower Girl will be making their debut on the streaming platform on Nov. 6 and Nov. 20, respectively.

Isang Himala, which was written by national artist Ricky Lee and directed by Pepe Diokno, reimagines the world of the 1982 classic Himala through a modern lens.

It tells the story of a young woman named Elsa who claims to have seen an apparition of the Virgin Mary and is suddenly believed to possess healing powers. It features an ensemble cast led by Aicelle Santos, Kakki Teodoro, and Bituin Escalante.

The film premiered at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival where it won 4th Best Picture, Special Jury Prize, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Theme Song, and Best Musical Score, It also earned awards at the Gawad Urian 2025 and was named the Philippines’ Best Feature Film at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2025.

Meanwhile, Flower Girl stars Sue Ramirez as Ena, a confident sanitary-napkin endorser whose life turns upside down when she publicly insults a trans woman. She wakes up and realises that her vagina is gone after a curse was placed on her, and the only way to reverse it is to find someone who will love her.

Joining Ramirez in the cast are Martin del Rosario, Jameson Blake, Maxie Andreison, KaladKaren, Donna Cariaga and Mae Paner.

Written and directed by Patrick Tabada, the film was selected as the closing film of the 2025 New York Asian Film Festival.
