PH’s Chelsea Fernandez remains a frontrunner at this year’s Miss Cosmo.

The beauty queen, hailing from Sultan Kudarat, was among the Top 5 who performed best during the fashion show on Wednesday, Dec. 11, wearing an Ao Dai, Vietnam's national dress.

Joining her are Peru's Kelín Rivera Kroll, Beyonce Forbes of the Bahamas, Ecuador's Alexandra Mina, and Nguyen Hoang Phuong Linh of Vietnam.

Prior to this, her community project, "Paradise of the Mangroves," was selected as one of the 26 initiatives featured in the Cosmo Green Summit. According to the pageant organizers, the chosen projects “demonstrate powerful impact and meaningful contributions to society.”

During her presentation, Fernandez explained that the initiative was inspired by the devastation her province experienced during Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in 2013, which aims to promote awareness about the importance of mangroves and educate the youth about environmental conservation and preservation.

Fernandez also garnered four million votes for Cosmo People’s Choice, the first candidate to do so, which earned her an exclusive photoshoot with the reigning queens, Miss Cosmo 2024 Ketut Permata Juliastrid, and runner-up Miss Cosmo 2024 Mook Karnruethai Tassabut. If she wins the Cosmo People’s Choice title, Fernandez will secure a guaranteed spot among the Top 10 finalists at the Miss Cosmo 2025 coronation night.

Aside from that, she was also among the Top 17 candidates in the pageant's national costume competition, showcasing a Sarimanok-inspired creation by ER Stephen Alvarado, held last Dec. 7.

Fernandez previously raised the Philippine flag at the Miss Globe 2022 pageant held in Albania. She also placed as a runner-up in Miss Philippines Earth 2019 as Miss Philippines Water.

She is hoping to win the Philippines' first-ever Miss Cosmo title. She will compete against 69 other delegates on the final night on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 9 p.m. (Philippine time).
