Pinay singer Gwyn Dorado wowed the Korean celebrity judges with her soulful performance at the competition show, Sing Again 4.

Dorado, who is contestant No. 59, delivered a powerful performance of As Time Goes By from the drama series Reply 1988.

At the end of her performance, the judges, consisting of Kyuhyun of Super Junior, Taeyeon of Girls' Generation, Lim Jae-beom, Yoon Jong-shin, Baek Ji-young, Kim Eana, Lee Hae-ri, and Code Kunst, all voted "All Again," allowing her to advance to the second round.

During her introduction, the 20-year-old singer shared that she joined the competition series Asia's Got Talent. “I’m from the Philippines and when I was living there, I went to Asia’s Got Talent and thankfully made it to the final stage,” she said.

She added that she joined Sing Again to make a name for herself globally.

“I didn't have a chance to make myself known as a singer, but then I came across K-pop, and K-pop is famous all over the world. So, I came to Korea because I wanted to be recognized for my singing and I wanted to show my talent through Sing Again,” she added.

Veteran Korean vocalist Baek Ji-young, who was moved to tears by her performance, praised the Pinay singer.

“It felt like I was watching what you were seeing in your mind. I have one request: please don't lose that innocence. If you ignore the people around you who are telling you to do this or that and do what you are doing right now, you will become a great diva who can sing for a long time," she said.

Renowned lyricist Kim Eana also commended the Pinay singer for her "dreamlike performance."

“I also have a strange charm that comes from the exotic pronunciation that I want to perfect. In fact, what I feel for sure is that the depth of expression of each letter is actually deeper than that of people who naturally speak Korean. It was a perfect, cool, and dreamlike performance,” she said.

Meanwhile, South Korean singer-songwriter and record producer Yoon Jong-shin praised Dorado's classical pop singing technique.

“What I like is in the middle, the song variation lines usually come out like that, but they are so natural, and it's been a long time since I've seen someone who is 20 years old and expresses emotions with such a good voice. So, I think that person No. 59 is someone I want to keep an eye on," he said.

“Our 59th singer is a rare twenty-year-old who uses classical pop singing techniques,” he said. “What I like is in the middle, the song variation lines usually come out like that, but they are so natural, and it's been a long time since I've seen someone who is 20 years old and expressed emotions with such a good voice. So, you’re someone I want to keep my eyes on.”

After her performance, Dorado became emotional backstage, sharing, “I'm shaking. My goal was to capture this moment without regrets, knowing that I had worked hard, whether I failed or passed.”

The fourth season of Sing Again began airing on Oct. 14, with Lee Seung-gi once again serving as the host. The show’s previous champions include Lee Seung-yoon from Season 1, Kim Ki-tae from Season 2, and Hong Isaac from Season 3.
