Hip-hop star Akon was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia.

Authorities approached the Locked Up singer on Friday, Nov. 7, after the Chamblee Police Department received an alert for a white Tesla Cybertruck, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Roswell Police Department issued an active warrant on the vehicle due to a suspended license.

Officers approached the vehicle parked at an automotive styling business. They then informed Akon of his arrest, with authorities noting he remained "calm” as he said he was aware of the warrant.

The Sengalese-American musician was cuffed and taken to DeKalb County Jail before being transferred into police custody.

The warrant was served after Akon failed to appear in court in January 2023 for a suspended license ticket.

USA Today reported that the suspension stemmed from a Sept. 10 incident, when authorities found the singer's Cybertruck stranded allegedly due to a dead battery.

The musician's vehicle was impounded, and he was cited for driving with a suspended license before being released in a matter of hours, according to jail reports.

Akon's representatives have yet to comment on the issue.
