Singer Ray J says he has only until 2027 to live: 'My health is not okay'
R&B singer Ray J shared that he was told by his doctors that he has only until 2027 to live due to health issues.
The 45-year-old said he was hospitalized and "almost died" in an Instagram video shared early this week. He didn't get into much detail, though TMZ, citing an unnamed source, reported on Jan. 7 that he was brought to the hospital due to severe pneumonia, which led to severe heart failure.
"Just almost died! I’m alive because of your prayers and support!" he wrote in his caption for the clip, where he said, "I wanna thank everyone for praying for me. I was in the hospital. My heart is only beating like 25%, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be all right, so thank you for all your prayers."
In an IG livestream that's now going viral on social media, he revealed that his days are numbered.
"2027 is definitely a wrap for me. My health is not okay," he said.
"It don’t matter if my days are counted. But guess what—my baby mama gonna be straight. My kids are gonna be straight. If they want to spend all the money they can spend it, but I did my part here," he added.
Ray J said his health battle may be connected to his lifestyle in the past years.
"I f***ked up," he said. "I thought I could handle all the alcohol, I could handle all the Adderall, I could handle all the drugs, but I couldn’t, and it curbed my time here."
According to USA Today, the singer also battled pneumonia in 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ray J, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., is behind the hit songs One Wish and Sexy Can I.
