Magnitude 5 quake hits Zambales
A magnitude 5 earthquake jolted Zambales on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 11, and was felt in parts of Metro Manila.
Phivolcs reported that the earthquake occurred at 5:32 p.m. on Saturday, with the epicenter in Cabangan, Zambales. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 100 km.
Aftershocks are expected.
Instrumental Intensities of Intensity III was recorded in Cabangan and Iba, Zambales; Intensity II in Calumpit, Bulacan; San Fernando, La Union; Guimba, Nueva Ecija; Bani, Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Santa Ignacia, Tarlac City, and Ramos, Tarlac; Botolan, Subic and San Marcelino, Zambales.
The quake was also felt in Metro Manila, as reported by universities like University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University.
The Zambales earthquake comes a day after the magnitude-7.4 in in Davao Oriental, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Baguio City, and 11 days after a magnitude-6.9 earthquake jolted Bogo City in Cebu.
